MILWAUKEE – April 30, 2025 – In response to overwhelming public interest, Jewish Museum Milwaukee (JMM) is extending its exhibit Choices of Consequence: Denmark and the Holocaust through September 7, 2025.

Originally scheduled to close on May 25, the exhibit explores the remarkable story of how the Danish people defied Nazi persecution to save the vast majority of Denmark’s Jewish population from the atrocities of the Holocaust. The acts of courage demonstrated while the small Danish nation was under German occupation is unparalleled in the history of World War II.

Featuring moving personal narratives, historical artifacts, and the powerful photo series Resistance and Rescue: Denmark’s Response to the Holocaust by Judy Glickman Lauder, Choices of Consequence has resonated deeply with visitors of all ages.

The extension allows additional tours, school visits, and public programs centered around the exhibit’s themes. Educational efforts continue in partnership with the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center (HERC).

“This story reminds us that even in the darkest times, individuals and communities can act with moral clarity,” said Molly Dubin, Chief Curator. “It’s a story that continues to inspire and we’re proud to share with even more visitors this summer.”
