Trump’s Anti-Trans Actions are Invasive and Infringe on Athletes’ Privacy
MADISON, Wis. — This week, Donald Trump signed an executive order designed to prohibit transgender athletes from participating in sporting events that align with their gender, reversing protections for LGBTQ+ Americans put in place by the Biden Administration.
“We condemn Donald Trump’s executive order to curtail the rights of trans Americans in the strongest terms. The federal administration’s actions are discriminatory, deeply wrong, and harmful to the LGBTQ+ community.
“The bottom line is this: every young person deserves the opportunity to participate in sports and activities that support their health and well-being. Playing sports with their friends and classmates helps all kids feel like they belong—and any action to ban participation is invasive and infringes on athletes’ privacy.”
