Live, Laugh, Loaves MKE Applies for Nonprofit Status to Combat Food Waste and Support Families in Need
Milwaukee, WI – January 30, 2025 – Live, Laugh, Loaves MKE, a community-driven initiative, is proud to announce its application for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Founded by MiquelaRae Artz, an 18-year-old junior at Alverno College, the organization aims to bridge the gap between surplus food products and families in need.
Live, Laugh, Loaves MKE collaborates with local companies to collect excess food items such as bread, buns, bagels, donuts, and cookies. These products are then distributed weekly to families in the community. The distribution takes place at the corner of 54th and Oklahoma, in front of Oklahoma Avenue Lutheran Church.
“Our mission is to ensure that no food goes to waste and that every family has access to essential food products,” said MiquelaRae Artz. “We are a volunteer-driven organization, and every donation we receive goes directly back into our operations, covering costs like gas for our bus and purchasing bags and bins.”
MiquelaRae, who graduated high school at the age of 16 with 17 college credits, has always been passionate about helping others. Now, as a pre-med student, she continues to dedicate her time to making a difference in her community.
Live, Laugh, Loaves MKE invites the community to join their biggest handout event this Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 9 am to 12 pm at Oklahoma Avenue Lutheran Church, 5335 Oklahoma Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53219.
