A Bright New Day in Wisconsin
New Year, New Maps, New Legislative Session
MADISON–Today, Representative Robyn Vining (D-Wauwatosa) will be sworn in and begin her fourth term in the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 13th Assembly District, a redrawn district that now includes Elm Grove, and parts of Wauwatosa and Brookfield. Rep. Vining has spent the last six years in the legislature focused on healthcare, mental health, infant and maternal health, funding for our public schools, a fair and healthy democracy, the needs of small businesses, and more. As the legislative session begins, Rep. Robyn Vining released the following statement:
“As public servants we do not serve parties, we serve people, and I am deeply committed–and fiercely dedicated–to the people I serve. There is far more that unites us than divides us, and it’s that unity that I believe is key to our being a healthy state. It is exciting to step foot onto an Assembly floor free of the burdens of partisan gerrymandering.
“Wisconsinites expect us to work together towards our shared values–to find common ground for the common good. I am committed to fighting for access to affordable mental healthcare and healthcare, including infant and maternal healthcare; fighting for our children’s constitutional right to an adequately funded public education, and to ensure that our public schools have the funding they need; supporting small businesses by fighting for affordable childcare and access to capital because Wisconsin is a small business state, and those small business owners deserve to be able to work hard and provide for their families; and fighting for a fair and healthy democracy, including non-partisan redistricting reform.
“At long last Wisconsin has a fresh new start–a fresh start toward fairness, togetherness, bipartisanship, and finding common ground for the common good. Forward, together.”
Rep. Vining represents the 13th Assembly District, which includes Elm Grove, and parts of Wauwatosa and Brookfield. For more information visit Rep. Vining’s website here.
