Healthcare in Crisis: Rally & Press Conference to Stop the Closures

By - Dec 18th, 2024 11:37 pm

MILWAUKEE, WI – The Save Milwaukee Healthcare Coalition invites the community and press to rally on December 22nd at 1pm outside of Milwaukee City Hall, located at 200 E Wells Street. Together we will share our stories, grow community connections, and demand accountability.

Ongoing healthcare closures have agonized the Greater Milwaukee area for more than two years. From the St. Francis Labor and Delivery Unit in 2022 to the recent announcement of St. Joe’s Cath Lab, the care our communities not only require, but deserve, is being dismantled to re-establish and grow profit margins. The Save Milwaukee Healthcare Coalition is calling upon city, county, and state officials to act with urgency and protect healthcare access for all Wisconsinites.

Event Details:
What: Healthcare in Crisis: Rally & Press Conference to Stop the Closures
When: Sunday, December 22nd, 2024 | 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Where: 200 E Wells Street Milwaukee, WI

Our elected officials must protect our quality of life. They can do so by supporting the composition of local healthcare zoning ordinances and voting in their favor. Our communities deserve easy and reliable access to the physical and behavioral care they require, and for-profit healthcare companies should not hold the power to determine where services can be received.

Save Milwaukee Healthcare Coalition is a grassroots organization dedicated to fighting for the health and well-being of Milwaukee County residents. The group works to raise awareness about healthcare inequities, advocate for policy changes, and unite communities to protect vital health services.
