“Students make up nearly one-quarter of Milwaukee’s population, according to a recent report by Forbes magazine, and there are 19 colleges within a 10-mile radius of the city that contribute to the region’s vitality,” Tech Council President Tom Still said. “With total research and development spending around $460 million in 2023, colleges in the Milwaukee area add to the region’s vibrancy and potential partnerships in that way, as well.”
“By engaging with some key higher-ed leaders, we’ll get a strong idea about how they support the economy,” Still added.
