Attend the MPD District Six Crime and Safety Meeting – Tuesday, August 6

By - Aug 2nd, 2024 02:41 pm

Residents are encouraged to attend the MPD District Six Crime and Safety Meeting happening at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6 at the Wilson Park Senior Center, 2601 W. Howard Ave.

Alderman Peter Burgelis said the meeting allows residents to hear about recent crime trends and incidents in the district, and to hear from MPD officials about policing and crime prevention information.

“This month’s meeting was cancelled earlier today, but thankfully MPD reconsidered this afternoon,” Alderman Burgelis said. “The July Crime and Safety Meeting was also canceled because of the Republican National Convention, and we have had very serious incidents in the 11th District since the last meeting was held in June. Constituents want to continue direct dialogue with MPD. I am very pleased that District Six is keeping the August meeting, I am looking forward to seeing residents at Tuesday’s meeting.”
