Senator Hesselbein Commends Governor Evers’ Action to Veto Yet Another Set of Gerrymandered Republican Maps

MADISON, Wis – Today, Governor Tony Evers continued to do the right thing and vetoed another set of gerrymandered maps proposed by Legislative Republicans. Senator Dianne Hesselbein (D-Middleton) released the following statement:

“Republicans are the least credible people in the state when it comes to redistricting and they have never been serious about finding a nonpartisan redistricting solution. Last week, they hurriedly unveiled new gerrymandered maps to protect their incumbents and manufactured majorities. This new gerrymander, “The Republican Protection Act,” is not what Wisconsinites want.

“Wisconsinites have made it very clear that they do not want political games. They want fair maps. With his veto today, Governor Evers continues to listen to the will of the people and will not stand for gerrymandering in Wisconsin.”
