Brewers Re-Sign Left-Handed Pitcher Wade Miley
NASHVILLE – The Milwaukee Brewers have re-signed veteran left-handed pitcher Wade Miley to a one-year contract with a mutual option for 2025. The announcement was made by Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Arnold from the 2023 Baseball Winter Meetings at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Resort in Nashville, TN.
Miley, 37, went 9-4 with a 3.14 ERA in 23 starts for the Brewers last season. The team went 15-8 in his starts as he held opponents to a .223 batting average while posting a 1.14 WHIP. He became a free agent after declining his mutual option on Nov. 3.
During his first stint with Milwaukee in 2018, Miley went 5-2 with a 2.57 ERA in 16 starts as the team won the National League Central championship and advanced to the seventh game of the NLCS against Los Angeles. He made four starts in the postseason that year, posting a 1.23 ERA (14.2ip, 2er).
Miley owns a career record of 108-98 with a 4.06 ERA in 315 games (308 starts) during 13 seasons with Arizona (2011-14), Boston (2015), Seattle (2016), Baltimore (2016-17), Milwaukee (2018, 2023), Houston (2019), Cincinnati (2020-21) and Chicago-NL (2022). He ranks eighth in the Major Leagues in starts since the 2011 season, including fourth among left-handed pitchers.
