Alderperson Jonathan Brostoff is inviting area residents to participate in the upcoming events hosted by the Urban Ecology Center. A pair of community forums will be hosted at the Riverside Park branch to gather input on making the Urban Ecology Centers a more vibrant, nature-based experience for all ages and backgrounds. The first forum will be held on Thursday, October 5 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., and the second on Saturday, October 14 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. Light refreshments will be provided and no advance registration is required. All ages are welcome.

Residents are also encouraged to visit the Urban Ecology Center for their “Take it Outside Days” happening this fall. The Riverside Park Branch will host a “Take it Outside Day” featuring canoes on the Milwaukee River on Saturday, October 7 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. These experiences are designed for beginners, novices, or those just starting out or re-engaging with outdoor explorations and recreation. No pre-registration is required, but space will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. All “Take it Outside Days” are free and open to the public.
