Fitzgerald Statement on Election of Speaker Kevin McCarthy

“Tonight, after an arduous week of deliberation, the House of Representatives elected Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to serve as Speaker of the House, said Congressman Scott Fitzgerald. There was no other candidate better fit to lead the Republican Conference and I am pleased to congratulate Speaker McCarthy on his election to lead the People’s House. It is now time to deliver on our commitment to America to build an economy that is strong, a nation that is safe, a future that is built on freedom, and a government that is accountable.
