Postal worker killed while serving the public
Statement of Alderman Mark Chambers, Jr. December 12, 2022
Postal carrier Aundre Cross was a friendly, likeable, dependable and hardworking public servant who was just doing his job when he was gunned down Friday (December 9, 2022) in a yard near N. 65th and W. Lancaster in the 2nd Aldermanic District.
My prayers are with his family members, neighbors, coworkers and friends. The murder has shaken the community and the close-knit group of USPS workers across the city who, like Mr. Cross, perform their duties quietly and diligently every day.
I am asking for the public’s help in catching the person or persons responsible for the murder, and I encourage residents to view the attached images and info. Additionally, the United States Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who killed Mr. Cross.
Let’s work together to bring justice to the family.
MPD, along with the FBI and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, is seeking unknown suspects regarding this homicide. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Milwaukee Police at (414) 935-7360 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at (414) 224-Tips or P3 Tips.
