Milwaukee Health Department Hosts 21st Annual Back-to-School Health Fair
MILWAUKEE – The new school year is right around the corner, and the City of Milwaukee Health Department wants to make sure Milwaukee students and families are set up for a healthy, successful year. This year’s annual Back-to-School Health Fair will be held on Friday, July 29 at Fiserv Forum and the Deer District (1111 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Success in the classroom starts with a focus on wellness for the entire family,” said Health Commissioner Kirsten Johnson. “COVID-19 has disrupted the past few school years, keeping children at home and learning virtually for their safety. Keeping kids in the classroom means keeping them healthy all year long, and that begins with immunizations. Let’s start the year strong by making sure our children are fully up to date with their vaccines, including the COVID-19 vaccine.”
Additionally, Milwaukee Health Department programs and community partners will provide health resources and information, the Milwaukee Fire Department’s Survive Alive Mobile Unit will be on site, and Social X MKE‘s Health & Wellness Pillar F.E.A.R. (Forget Everything And Run) will host fun, fast, family workouts throughout the day. Karol’s Kitchen, Kalibre’s Tacos, Jive Turkey, and Sweet Crush Ice Cream food trucks will be available in the Deer District.
