“Bring Your Fest Self” to Summerfest’s Opening Weekend

MILWAUKEE, WI (June 22, 2022) – Opening weekend of Summerfest presented by American Family Insurance kicks off TOMORROW, June 23, 2022. Here are some tips to ensure fans “Bring Your Fest Self” to Summerfest this year:

  1. Plan Ahead
  • For the most up to date information on the festival, lineup, lodging, transportation options and more, visit Summerfest.com or download the official Summerfest App.
  • Purchase tickets in advance at Summerfest.com, to avoid waiting in line.
  • Arrive early to have the best spot to see your favorite artists, along with your favorite food and drinks, and experience all that Summerfest has to offer.
  1. Transportation
  • Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. (MWF) is offering bus shuttle transportation to Summerfest during all nine days of the festival, June 23-25, June 30-July 2, July 7-9, 2022.
  • Riders are strongly encouraged to pre-purchase round-trip tickets in advance at Tickets The Summerfest Store to reserve a seat, as there is potential for the service to sell out.
  • Roundtrip fare is $15.00 – save money at the pump and take the Summerfest Shuttle!
  1. Pick Your Favorite Shows to See for Weekend One
  • Download the official Summerfest App, fueled by Pepsi, and plan your day.  Select what acts you want to see – headliners for weekend one include: Violent Femmes, The Band CAMINO, Steve Aoki, Big Boi, Zach Bryan, Anthrax, Dustin Lynch, Barenaked Ladies, Steve Miller Band, and many more.
  • Plus, you won’t want to miss the incredible shows at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater which will include:
    • June 23, at 7:30 p.m. – Jason Aldean with Gabby Barrett and John Morgan.
    • June 25, at 7:30 p.m. – Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, and Wu-Tang Clan.
  1. Get in FREE to Summerfest Opening Weekend
  • Thursday, June 23 – Johnson Controls Stomp Out Hunger Day with Fox 6 Milwaukee
    • All patrons who arrive between 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. and donate a minimum of two jars of peanut butter will receive one FREE admission ticket, valid for the day and time of the promotion only. All donations benefit Hunger Task Force.
  • Friday, June 24 – Lou Malnati’s Children’s Fest Day with TMJ4 and 99.1 The Mix
    • ALL patrons arriving between 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on June 24 will be admitted for FREE
  • Saturday, June 25 – Briggs & Stratton Mary Lou’s Closet Supply Drive
    • The first 1,500 patrons who arrive between 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Mid Gate and donate NEW deodorant, feminine hygiene products, and/or socks, with a total minimum value of $10, will receive one FREE admission ticket, valid for the day and time of the promotion only. All donations benefit United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County’s community schools.
  1. Bring the Essentials
  • No backpacks of any size or bags larger than 9” x 10” x 12” will be allowed on the grounds.
  • You can never be too prepared – be sure to bring non-aerosol sunscreen, a hat, a jacket, etc. just in case!
