Help capture shooter who killed legally blind man
Statement of Alderman Khalif J. Rainey May 19, 2022
On Monday (May 16) someone shot a 31-year-old legally blind man just before 11:30 p.m. at N. 37th and W. Burleigh. First responders took him to the hospital where he died of his injuries.
I am saddened by this senseless murder, and I offer my prayers and condolences to the loved ones and friends of the victim. His family described the man as kind and funny, and just days away from his 32nd birthday when he was shot.
Gun violence of ANY kind is heinous and unwarranted, but I am especially angered that someone would decide to open fire on a person with diminished capacities. What kind of person would do such a thing?!
I am asking the public to help us capture and bring the shooter to justice as soon as possible.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Milwaukee Police at (414) 935-7360 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at (414) 224-Tips or P3 Tips App.
Let’s help bring justice to a grieving family.
