M.E. Dey & Co. Receives Presidential Award for Export Service
Milwaukee, Wisconsin — Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce awarded M.E. Dey & Co. the 2021 President’s “E” Star Award for Export Service at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. The President’s “E” Award is the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.
“M.E. Dey & Co. has demonstrated a sustained commitment to export expansion. The “E” Awards Committee was very impressed with M.E. Dey & Co.’s expansion of services to exporters since receiving the President’s “E” Award in 2013. The company’s nearly 60 percent increase in export business in the past 7 years was also particularly notable. M.E. Dey & Co.’s achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs,” said Secretary Raimondo in her congratulatory letter to the company announcing its selection as an award recipient.
“In today’s global economy export is vital to the success of business large and small. It’s rewarding when we can help launch an export program for our customers and watch their businesses grow,” said Sandi Siegel, M.E. Dey & Co.’s President and Managing Director. “We have partnered with the various state agencies who offer great support services and grants to companies wishing to expand into export markets. It’s a win/win for the state and the individual businesses. This growth has enabled our clients to add jobs and support their local communities as they expand their bottom line.”
In total, the Department honored 71 U.S. companies and organizations from across the country for their role in strengthening the U.S. economy by sharing American ingenuity outside of our borders. The ceremony was held to jointly recognize awardees from 2021, (32 entities) and 2020, (39 entities).
U.S. companies are nominated for the “E” Awards through the U.S. Commercial Service, part of the Department’s International Trade Administration. With offices across the United States and in embassies and consulates around the world, The International Trade Administration lends its expertise at every stage of the exporting process by promoting and facilitating exports and investment into the United States; administering Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duties orders; and removing, reducing, or preventing foreign trade barriers.
