SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — Today, Sheboygan native and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of West Bend Mutual Insurance Heather Dunn was recognized as a 2021 Notable Woman in Insurance by BizTimes Media.

The award recognizes women in the insurance industry who have track records of success in their field, boast impressive career accomplishments and regularly contribute to their communities through volunteerism, philanthropic efforts or board memberships.

Dunn has 22 years of industry experience, 13 of which have been with West Bend Mutual Insurance. In her role, Dunn manages three teams totaling nearly 70 people, working to streamline, update and build systems that create internal efficiency and help the organization better serve its clients.

With the help of Dunn’s problem solving skills and investment in her team, West Bend Mutual Insurance was better equipped to handle the unforeseen challenges and take necessary pivots resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Heather has brought invaluable insight, empathy and a solutions-oriented mindset to the team,” said Kevin Steiner, President and CEO of West Bend Mutual Insurance. “We are thrilled by this much-deserved recognition and are honored to have her as a leader at West Bend.”

In addition to her leadership at West Bend Mutual Insurance, Dunn serves as President of the Board of the Museum of Wisconsin Art and on the board of directors for Concordia University and the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF). She served as co-chair of UPAF’s 2021 Community Campaign, which raised more than $10.1 million for Milwaukee-area arts groups.
