Community partner Safe & Sound, Inc. is moving its headquarters from downtown to the 7th Aldermanic District, and the organization is celebrating by holding a Fall Festival and Open House this Thursday (October 21), according to Alderman Khalif J. Rainey.

The festival and open house will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday at the future Safe & Sound headquarters in Sherman Park at 4422 W. Leon Terrace.

Alderman Rainey said the event will include food trucks, games, vendor resources, a vaccine drive, arts and crafts, music and more. “I am very pleased with the decision by Safe & Sound to move to the 7th District to better serve the community,” he said. “The Fall Festival and Open House will give the organization the opportunity to meet its new neighbors and for residents to get better acquainted with Safe & Sound in a family-friendly and fun manner.”

Safe & Sound, Inc. Executive Director Joe’Mar Hooper said the organization is excited to be moving to the Sherman Park neighborhood in just a few months.

“As an organization, we are excited to make the Sherman Park community our new home with a space where we can engage with and host the residents we serve and our community partners,” Mr. Hooper said.

A multifaceted/multidimensional non-profit community organization, Safe & Sound’s mission “is to unite residents, youth, law enforcement, and community resources to build safe and empowered neighborhoods.”
