Rep. Pasch Receives 100 percent Rating from League of Conservation Voters
Rep. Pasch (D-Shorewood) received a 100 percent rating from the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters for her work during the 2013-14 legislative session.
MADISON – Rep. Pasch (D-Shorewood) announced today that she received a 100 percent rating from the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters for her work to conserve Wisconsin’s air, water and land during the 2013-14 legislative session. Rep. Pasch’s 100 percent rating earned her special thanks and the title of Conservation Champion.
“I’m proud to continue Wisconsin’s long heritage of stewardship of our lakes, clean air, and forests,” Rep. Pasch said. “They define our culture and our industries, and we must continue our proud conservation tradition to grow our future economy.”
The Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters praised Rep. Pasch’s votes on issues including bipartisan bills to protect water quality by keeping lead and prescription drugs out of water supplies and our lakes and streams.
The League also thanked Rep. Pasch for voting against the Open-Pit Mining Bill, which said that iron mines do not have to follow most environmental laws. The mining bill rolls back environmental protections and could potentially lead to drinking water contamination.
In addition to pro-conservation votes, Rep. Pasch also stood up for clean energy investments that provide clean and reliable energy, reduce dependence on out-of-state fuels and create Wisconsin jobs. Clean and renewable energy and the associated supply chain industries present some of the strongest opportunities on the horizon for long-term job growth in our state.
“I believe that in order to grow our economy, we need to invest in the energy of the future, especially homegrown, renewable energy sources that help create jobs here in Wisconsin,” Rep. Pasch added. “Conserving our air, land and water and investing in cleaner energy sources is so vital to our health and our future economy.”
