Mayor Tom Barrett released the following statement:
“I strongly support the allocation of $163 million for the state office building at 27th and Wisconsin as proposed in the Governor’s capital budget. I am grateful for the renewed investment in the near west side of Milwaukee. The project will positively affect not only the immediate neighborhood but also the surrounding areas up and down Wisconsin Ave. and 27th St.”
“I also commend Governor Evers for his proposed investments in higher education facilities, correctional and health services facilities, Veteran care, natural resources management and energy conservation statewide. This budget smartly prioritizes and addresses Wisconsin’s current needs.”
