Johnson Statement on National Defense Authorization Act
WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said the following Friday regarding his vote on the FY21 National Defense Authorization Act:
“This defense bill is riddled with problematic policies and fails to address a number of key issues. However, at the end of the day this bill provides support to the bravest among us – the men and women of our armed forces – and also includes language I authored to halt a Russian malign-influence project, to authorize a tool for the nation’s cyber agency to better identify and warn companies about vulnerabilities, and to greenlight Wisconsin National Guard construction projects. I cast my vote in support of those priorities, not as an endorsement of flawed policies that attempt to erase our history, limit our 5G development and add regulatory burdens to small businesses.”
