MPD Officer Involved in Shots Fired Incident
The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a shots fired incident that occurred on Friday, October 30, 2020, at approximately 12:42 p.m., on the 5400 block of N. 41st Street.
At approximately 12:42 p.m., Milwaukee Police Officers were in the area investigating an unrelated domestic violence incident that occurred on the 3800 block of W. Sheridan Avenue. The officers heard several gunshots and observed a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers responded to the area when they observed the subject vehicle travelling towards the squad. The subject vehicle struck the officer’s vehicle on the 5400 block of N. 41st Street. An officer fired several shots at the subject vehicle. The subject vehicle subsequently collided into a tree. There is no indication that anyone was struck as a result of the officer’s shots fired.
Two individuals from the subject vehicle, a 20-year-old male and an 18-year-old male, were arrested. The officer who discharged his firearm is a 35-year-old with over 4 years of service.
This is an ongoing investigation. The Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Milwaukee Police Department is investigating this incident.
