Treasurer Godlewski and Congresswoman Moore Hear from Small Business Owners on Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski and Congresswoman Gwen Moore held a virtual listening session for small businesses to share their concerns in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, hosted by Small Business Majority on Friday. As programs and policies are being shaped, the views of small business owners will help inform the response and recovery at the state and federal level.
“Prior to becoming State Treasurer, I was a small business owner, focused on helping startup companies,” said Treasurer Sarah Godlewski. “This unprecedented time calls for unprecedented financial and safety measures for our small businesses. It is important to hear what is working and what needs to change because our economy is dependent on the success of our small businesses.”
“I am so grateful for the chance to hear first-hand from small business owners about the challenges they have been facing because of the pandemic. The contribution of small businesses to our society is invaluable, from creating new jobs to driving economic growth and innovation. But small businesses can also be especially vulnerable to economic shocks,” said Congresswoman Moore. “I will be drawing on the concerns I heard from the small business community and their ideas on how the government can help them as I work with my colleagues in Congress to respond to their needs and support them on the road to recovery.”
In hosting this online forum, Treasurer Godlewski and Congresswoman Moore demonstrated their commitment to ensuring small businesses have the support they need as Wisconsin works toward economic recovery.
