Born and raised in Dundee, Wisconsin, Rosalie Waranius Vass has exhibited her work extensively nationally and internationally for six decades. Over those years she has developed a unique watercolor technique whereupon she layers the translucent paint, creating an opaque surface that shimmers and glows. While she creates her paintings from her imagination, “making a painting is like solving a mystery. I never know what will evolve when I put brush to paper,” they are inspired by memories of the lush, hilly Kettle Moraine area where she grew up and her extensive travels further afield.

Light Refreshments will also be served at Gallery Day and Night:

Friday, January 17, 5:00–9:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 18, 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

MOWA On The Lake is Open daily from 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Admission is free. Limited parking is available on the south side of building.

Saint John’s roots date back to 1868 when the organization was founded as shelter services by women of the Episcopal Church. Today, Saint John’s is an independent, non-profit organization and diverse, inclusive and vibrant retirement community with more than 330 residents.
