MILWAUKEE – Dec 20, 2019 – Milwaukee Ballet’s Lizzie Tripp was recognized by Dance Magazine in its “25 to Watch” feature that was published Monday.

Dance Magazine, the nation’s leading publication for the dance industry, releases this annual list acknowledging dancers, choreographers and companies that are on the verge of skyrocketing.

Milwaukee Ballet Artistic Director Michael Pink noted his pleasure with this selection saying, “I’m very proud and pleased for Lizzie. She is a role model of determination and dedication.”

Tripp is one of few dancers in Milwaukee Ballet history to perform in all three troupes within the organization: as a student with the School & Academy, a member of the pre-professional Milwaukee Ballet II program and a professional with Milwaukee Ballet Company.

In its feature, Dance Magazine noted, “Contemporary movement flows from Lizzie Tripp like a Shakespeare sonnet. In the opening solo of Enrico Morelli’s The Noise of Whispers in 2017, she bewitched audiences with supple airiness, nuanced complexity and heartfelt intensity.”

Tripp is currently on stage in Milwaukee Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker, which runs through Dec. 26 at the Marcus Performing Arts Center.

The Nutcracker is the city’s largest annual spectacle, featuring exquisite set pieces, period costumes, special effects and a cast of nearly 200 dancers from around the world, including students from Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy.

Ticket Information

The Nutcracker runs through Dec. 26, 2019 at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, 929 N Water Street in Milwaukee, Wis.

Tickets from $40-$115 and are available online at milwaukeeballet.org or through Milwaukee Ballet’s box office at 414-902-2103.
