Foxconn Announces $31M in Additional Construction Awards
Next round of bid packages awarded for ongoing work at the advanced manufacturing facility at the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park
Mount Pleasant, WI – Foxconn Technology Group (Foxconn) and its construction manager, Gilbane| Exyte today announced four additional subcontracts under Bid Release 5d for construction work at the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park (WVSTP). The new awards carry a total contract value of more than $31 million, bringing the total value of Gilbane|Exyte construction contracts awarded for work at the park to approx. $350 million.
“Foxconn is pleased to be taking another step forward at the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park with this most recent round of bid awards,” said Foxconn Technology Group. “With roof installation well underway heading into the winter season, we’re thrilled to be continuing our progress and maintaining our aggressive construction schedule.”
The awards come as Foxconn nears completion of roof installation at the nearly 1,000,000 square-foot advanced manufacturing facility at the WVSTP. Announced in early October, roof installation encompasses the installation of approximately 16,000 cubic yards of concrete onto a metal deck. Installation has been overseen by three roofing crews in order to meet an aggressive construction schedule.
New contracts announced as part of Bid Package 5d include:
- Fire Protection: United States Alliance Fire Protection, Inc. – New Berlin WI
· Mechanical and Plumbing Work for Office & Assembly: J.F. Ahern Co. – Fond du Lac, WI
· Electrical, Lighting and Low Voltage for Office & Assembly: Morse Electric, Inc. – Beloit, WI
· Security and IT for Office & Assembly: Staff Electric Co, Inc. – Butler, WI
All award recipients have met the criteria for the Wisconsin First program established for the construction of the WVSTP. Coordination activity for this work is currently underway.
