Ampersand Theater Company Launches Crowdfunding Campaign
Company to Open Theater Space in Former In Tandem Theater
[MILWAUKEE, WI, October 28, 2019] Ampersand Theater Company announced on Friday a crowdfunding campaign for their new theater space in Downtown Milwaukee.
The Ampersand Theater, located at 628 N. 10th Street, will serve as a performance venue, comedy training center, and community gathering space when it opens in early January 2020. In addition to an 80-seat black box theater, the site will include classroom space for lessons and a lounge with bar.
The campaign features a variety of giving levels and unique perks, from limited-run merchandise to tickets to the Grand Opening to recognition on a Donor Wall. Higher level donors could receive private parties or lessons at the venue — or the privilege of naming a restroom!
The initial fundraising goal of $30,000 will cover the majority of constuction, permitting, and equipment costs. Additional Stretch Goals are planned for new flooring, exterior signage, and a mural by a local artist.
The theater, located in the lower level of Calvary Presbyterian Church, housed In Tandem Theater for nearly a decade, before it closed its doors in April of this year.
The campaign is scheduled to end on December 1, 2019 at 11:59pm PST. Full details are available at www.indiegogo.com/at/ampersandtheater.
