Rep. Robyn Vining Appointed to Task Force on Adoption
This committee will focus on addressing the barriers facing biological and adoptive parents in the adoption process.
MADISON – This week, Representative Robyn Vining (D-Wauwatosa) was appointed to the Assembly Task Force on Adoption, a bipartisan group of 10 Republicans and 6 Democrats.
This committee will focus on addressing the barriers facing biological and adoptive parents in the adoption process. Legislators on the task force will identify ways to modify the timeline for adoptions, evaluate the costs of adoption, and increase awareness and resources for adoption. Rep. Vining issued the following statement in response to her appointment:
“I am honored to have been appointed to the Task Force on Adoption. This issue impacts the lives of children and families across the state, especially when it overlaps with the foster care system. The relationship between parents and their children, adoptive or by birth, are relationships I hold dear. Curiosity and compassionate leadership are key pieces to the success of this task force. I am committed to making this process better for children and families across the state.”
