Rep. Moore Calls on GOP to Turn Rhetoric into Action
"Rep. King is just a symptom. It’s clear the disease is emanating from the White House."
Washington, DC – Today, upon voting for H. Res. 41, a House resolution reiterating that white nationalism and white supremacy are contradictory to the values that define the people of the United States and Congress, Congresswoman Gwen Moore (WI-04) released the following statement:
“Today, I voted for H. Res. 41, because I unequivocally condemn white nationalism and white supremacy. Rep. Steven King isn’t the first or only Republican who has espoused these hateful and bigoted opinions. In recent years, this dangerous rhetoric has escalated and been amplified by the Trump Administration.
“Rep. King is just a symptom. It’s clear the disease is emanating from the White House. Republicans may have condemned Rep. King’s words and called on him to resign today, but they continue to support policies that align with his racist agenda.
“The GOP needs to do more than spew stern words. They need to take ownership of the polemic environment they’ve helped create and reassess their sycophantic support of the discriminatory policies and hateful speech coming out of the White House.”

Right on, honorable representative Moore,
The Republican party represented in the U.S. Senate and in the U.S. House of Reps appears to have lost all connections with THE PARTY OF LINCOLN. They have become “the Trump party. Republican senators and reps need to man-up and woman-up in defiance of the racist, sexist and narcissistic nonsense that THE DONALD promotes if they have any interest in healing this divided nation.
THE PARTY OF TRUMP (ne the Republican Party) has enabled THE DONALD to shut down our government for nearly a month on the advice of hater entertainers such as Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter. Optimists say that the pendulum will swing back. Pessimists say that the needle on the pendulum could snap. If that needle snaps, the world’s greatest democracy could shrink to an autocratic oligarchy.
As soon as Rep. King’s comments were published in the NY Times, people began wondering,”Why now?”
Mr. King has sped to the aid of the racist-in-charge, Mr. Trump. Once again, Mr. Trump is in dire need of having something or someone take the attention away from himself. Each passing day, Mr. Trump sees his opinion polls go lower. Mr. King, seeing his leader in need, threw himself upon his sword for Mr. Trump.
Besides, Mr. King could care less what people think of him.
