MLWAUKEE – Supervisor Sequanna Taylor visited with high school seniors at the Barack Obama School of Career and Technical Education today to talk about the importance of voting and registering to vote.

“This year, young people will make up the largest group of eligible voters for the first time in any election. Your voice matters! You have the power to decide who will represent you locally and nationally. With voter registration materials now available right here in your school, it is easier than ever to make sure your voice is heard and your vote counts,” said Supervisor Taylor.

Supervisor Taylor encouraged students at Barack Obama to fill out voter registration forms made available at the school.

Supervisor Taylor was joined by Kalan Haywood, Jr., the Democratic candidate for the 16th Assembly District, Keith Posley, Superintendent of Milwaukee Public Schools, and Shauntay Nelson, a staff member with Wisconsin Voices, a non-partisan civic engagement group.

Supervisor Taylor is encouraging people throughout the community to register to vote.
