All-Female Orchestra Comes to Milwaukee
Chicago-area company brings World Golden Memories International Tour to UW-Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE, WI – Star Gate Music Productions’ World Golden Memories International Tour features dozens of talented female musicians from all over the world. Based in the Chicago-area, the company is bringing to life beloved melodies from many different cultures. The production will be making a stop in Milwaukee this winter for a one-night-only performance.
The all-female production is headed by accomplished international pianists, Anna Berezkina and Elizabeth Vaughan, and backed by the incomparable Star Gate orchestra under the direction of experienced conductor, Dr. Claudia Restrepo. These talented musicians breathe new life into beloved classics such as “Ol’ Man River” from the United states, “Carioca” from Brazil and “Hava Nagila” from Israel.
Star Gate’s goal in touring this production is to highlight the exceptional talent of often-overlooked female musicians and bring people from different backgrounds together through familiar and cherished music. World Golden Memories includes carefully-chosen melodies from the greatest musical traditions across the globe. These timeless songs transport the culture and tradition of their native lands to the concert hall.
The performance will be held at UW-Milwaukee’s Helen Bader Concert Hall on the evening of February 24th. Tickets are available through the concert hall box office—online, over-the-phone or in person. Visit the Star Gate Music Productions website for more details.
