Governor Walker Invites Students to Decorate the State Capitol Christmas Tree
Ornaments symbolizing the Capitol building and its 100th birthday will be displayed on the 2017 State Capitol Christmas Tree.
MADISON – Governor Walker asked art teachers, parents, and children across Wisconsin to help decorate the 2017 State Capitol Christmas Tree. This year, the Capitol Christmas Tree theme will be the Capitol’s 100th Birthday.
“Every year, visitors come from all over to visit the Capitol and see its magnificent Christmas tree,” Governor Walker said. “With the centennial celebration of our state’s Capitol building occurring this year, we want this year’s State Capitol Christmas tree to honor and celebrate this milestone.”
Ornaments symbolizing the Capitol building and its 100th birthday will be displayed on the 2017 State Capitol Christmas Tree. Experiences making the ornaments can be shared with pictures and stories through Facebook and Twitter using #WICapitolTree.
Anyone interested in sending Capitol’s 100th Birthday themed ornaments to decorate the tree should make their submission by Wednesday, November 22nd.
