Riverside University High School Announces New Boy’s Basketball Coach
New hire fills one of the most sought-after coaching positions in the state
After a long search, the Riverside University High School boys’ basketball team has a new varsity coach, Justin Hullum. The search was begun after the departure of Tyrone “Rock” Lewis in April that created an opening at one of the most successful programs in the state over the past decade.
Justin Hullum is entering into a new role as the head varsity boys’ basketball coach at Riverside University High School. This post comes after serving the past three years as the assistant boys’ varsity coach at Racine Horlick High School and one year as the head freshman boys’ coach. Prior to working at Horlick, Justin spent 11 years co-coaching the freshman boys’ basketball team at Racine St. Catherine’s under his mentor, Bob Letsch, the second-most victorious coach in Wisconsin high school basketball history.
Justin has coached basketball in various capacities for the past 24 years and has coached more than 20 different AAU teams. He was recently honored by being selected as the head coach for the 2015 Mark Your Moment showcase of the Racine All-Star team. Justin holds a bachelor’s degree in Urban Education from UW-Milwaukee and is a certified cross-categorical special education teacher. He is currently employed at the Racine Unified School District as a Freshman Seminar Teacher.
