Fragile Snowflakes Kremer, Vos, Murphy & Harsdorf Want to Mandate Campus Safe Spaces Free of Republican Critics
In Midst of $19 Billion Wisconsin Student Loan Debt Crisis, Republicans Want to Require Students to Coddle Republicans
MADISON, Wis. — With Wisconsin having vaulted under complete Republican government control to the top five in in the nation for percent of graduates with crippling student loan debt, GOP Reps. Jesse Kremer, Robin Vos, Dave Murphy and Sen. Sheila Harsdorf are circulating legislation requiring the University of Wisconsin System to create mandatory safe spaces where conservatives, Republicans, racists and sexists can be exempt from criticism by their peers on campuses across Wisconsin.
“For the last six years, the rights of students have been assaulted by the Republican legislature, most notably their right to hold elected officials accountable at the ballot box, ” said Scot Ross, One Wisconsin Now Executive Director. “Now, these Republicans want to make our campuses safe spaces for Republicans to be free of criticism and subject students to legal sanctions if they speak out.”
The bill, which is available here, is the latest effort by Republicans to silence the voices of students on campus.
After seizing control of state government in 2011, Vos and Republicans passed a series of unconstitutional attacks on student voting by severely limiting the way in which students could access the polls — moves that were thrown out by a federal judge in 2016 in the case One Wisconsin Institute v. Thomsen.
Then, the Republicans killed the funding for the United Council of UW Students, because the non-partisan group focused on registering and mobilizing students to exercise their right to vote.
“These Republicans have led the charge on attacking everyone from poor people to minorities to women to transgender children,” said Ross. “It appears the biggest threat faced by Republicans in Wisconsin, according to fragile snowflakes Jesse and Robin, are having their feelings hurt by criticism from university students. So sad!”

I agree with your viewpoint but why do you use the derogatory term “snowflakes”? This is a term used by white supremacists? What is your perspective?
Wow… what an “objective” story… not! This goes both ways and has been backed by the ACLU in other states.
Has the ACLU actually backed legislation like this?
Mandating to students is a very bad idea if the 60s and 70s taught us anything. Free speech should be subject to scrutiny. Especially on a Campus dedicated to science and the free flow and exchange of ideas. The G.overnment O.f P.lutocrats don’t like their”ideas” challenged with critical thinking. They like the environment where they get to tell you what to think, who to blame, how to vote and how the State should tell you how to live your life with less opportunity, less education, less infrastructure, less rights and less money. And we keep voting for these corporate politicians.
