MILWAUKEE – The Buckler Apartments – one of the first downtown Milwaukee apartment communities to offer residents a half-court basketball court, 24-hour concierge, pet spa, state-of-the-art communications and security technology and other top-of-the-line amenities – today announced it has earned a TOBY Award for “Outstanding Community Amenities” from the Building Owners & Managers Association-Wisconsin and the Apartment Owners & Managers Association of Greater Milwaukee (BOMA-AOMA.)

“We offer an unmatched package of amenities to help our residents live, work, play, gather, entertain and relax, and it’s truly gratifying to have that effort be recognized with this prestigious award,” said Lindsay Pritzker, community manager for the Buckler. “We see the Buckler as not just an apartment building, but as a downtown living community. Our amenities are one of the things that help set us apart and attract a vibrant mix of residents ranging from college students and young professionals to corporate executives and empty nesters.”

Several Buckler amenities, including the half-court basketball court and 24-hour concierge, were the first such offerings in the Milwaukee marketplace when the building began leasing in early 2016. Other community amenities include:

  • Pet spa and grooming area
  • 24-hour fitness gym
  • Buckler Bikes on-site bike rentals
  • Buckler Bucks incentive program with local businesses
  • Butterfly MX Smartphone video intercom system
  • On-site dry-cleaning pickup and drop-off
  • Guest suite
  • On-site Starbucks coffee machine
  • Outdoor courtyard with individual grill stations, lounge seating and fire pit
  • Outdoor quiet yard
  • TV lounge
  • WIFI Café and Social Room

The Buckler has plans to offer additional amenities in 2017, including an on-site convenience store and a game room, Pritzker said.

“With these amenities, we really have a community-within-a-building,” she said. “Residents gather at our recent end-of-summer and Packer parties and special events such as our upcoming Halloween costume contest for pets, our ‘We Care’ drive to support the military on September 11th and more. We’ve also been able to establish active social media communities – when one of our residents had a dead car battery in our lot a couple of weeks ago, she turned to Facebook and found help from two neighbors within minutes!”

The TOBY (Outstanding Building of the Year) awards were presented at an awards banquet in September at Blue Mound Golf and Country Club. The Buckler also earned a 2016 Milwaukee Business Journal Real Estate Award for best residential renovation and the 2015 “Deal of the Year” award from the Commercial Association of Realtors Wisconsin.
