Zipcar adds three new locations near UWM

ZipCars at Kenwood United Methodist Church.

Zipcar, the world’s leading car sharing network, has expanded its presence surrounding the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee to meet the demands of the new school year. Six new vehicles in three new locations are now available, bringing Zipcar’s total fleet near UWM to 14 Zipcars.

Zipcar gives students, faculty and staff the freedom to go where they want, when they want, without bringing a personal car to campus.

New locations include:

• 3019 North Frederick Ave. (surface lot)
• 2864 North Cramer St. (surface lot)
• Kenwood United Methodist Church, 2319 E Kenwood Blvd. (surface lot)

These convenient and cost-effective wheels can be reserved around the clock for students, faculty, and staff ages 18 and older, as well as members of the local community ages 21 and over. Members can join and make reservations instantly on the mobile app

UWM students can join for $15, with rates for Zipcar vehicles near campus starting as low as $7.50 per hour and $69 per day (including gas, insurance and maintenance). Members of the local community can join for $7 per month or $70 per year.

Zipcar first brought its car sharing service to Milwaukee in August 2013. Demand has since grown, calling for more Zipcars in more locations near campus and around Milwaukee. A total of 44 vehicles are available throughout Milwaukee.
