Sen. Johnson Remains Silent as Travelers Wait in Mile Long TSA Lines
Millions of Americans will face hours long waits at the airport this summer.
MADISON – Senator Johnson, who heads the Senate committee in charge of overseeing TSA checkpoints, continues to do nothing as travelers endure long lines at security checkpoints. Millions of Americans will face hours long waits at the airport this summer, and Senator Johnson’s committee has yet to hold a hearing on the issue.
Senator Johnson should be exploring ways to improve this situation for American travelers. Instead, since he became chair of the Senate’s Homeland Security Committee, which oversees the TSA, the number of agents and scanners at airports has fallen. Senator Johnson even refuses to consider additional funding to hire more agents. This is unacceptable at a time when the safety of travelers should be the focus. Senator Johnson and his ultra-conservative colleagues in Washington, prefer partisan gridlock to practical solutions.
The millions of Americans forced to endure long waits deserve answers from Wisconsin’s senior senator Ron Johnson. If he was doing his job, Senator Johnson should have seen this problem coming before it emerged. His lax oversight of this agency as chairman has contributed to unacceptable TSA delays.

The headline says “mile long” lines but lacks a reference to that in the body of the article. What’s up with that?
Can’t stand RoJo but political party press releases are best ignored.
