Free “Americana Pajama Jamboree” Concludes Festival City Symphony Concert Season
All “Pajama Jamboree” concerts have free admission.
Milwaukee, Wis.—Festival City Symphony (FCS) will conclude its “Pajama Jamboree” series this season with Americana Pajama Jamboree on Wed., May 11, 2016, at 7:00 pm in the Bradley Pavilion of the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, 123 E. State Street entrance.
Children will clap along when the FCS orchestra duels it out with local bluegrass trio, “Above the Town.” The group includes Jerry Loughney on fiddle and vocals; Bill Brenckle on guitar, mandolin, and vocals; and Jon Peik on banjo, bass, and vocals. The concert will feature Rodgers’ Selections from Oklahoma, Harris’ arrangement of Americana (set by Above the Town), and Hayman’s Pops Hoedown.
The popular Festival City Symphony tradition of young audience members conducting the orchestral finale, “Stars and Stripes” by John Philip Sousa, will bring this concert to a close.
All “Pajama Jamboree” concerts have free admission. Hosted by Education Director Jayne Perkins, these popular programs welcome children and their parents or grandparents to attend in casual dress or pajamas. The audience is invited to bring a blanket and sit on the floor, up close to “meet” the orchestra. Conventional seating is also available. Pajama Jamborees are best suited for children in K4 through fifth grade.
