MILWAUKEE – October 6, 2015 – The United Community Center’s Senior Center will proudly host its annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Friday, October 9th at 12:30 p.m. This annual multicultural fair invites participants of UCC’s Senior Center to offer demonstrations in traditional dress, crafts, flags, and song and dance to honor their home culture before joining together in a potluck to enjoy a taste of each represented culture’s unique cuisine. Different cultures will be represented throughout the Senior Center at booths organized by seniors that display mementos and symbols to share with their peers and increase awareness about cultural diversity within the community.

This celebration is a heavily anticipated highlight of UCC’s Senior Center programming each year. The Hispanic Heritage Celebration coincides with Hispanic Heritage Month, which occurs annually from September 15th through October 15th. The celebration looks to engage our seniors to participate and make them feel pride in their cultures.

WHAT: UCC’s Hispanic Heritage Celebration

WHEN: Friday, October 9th at 12:30 p.m.
