U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin Statement in Support of Iran Nuclear Agreement

“I’m proud that America led six countries toward an historic international agreement with Iran.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin, a member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, released the following statement in support of the Iran nuclear agreement:

“I’m proud that America led six countries toward an historic international agreement with Iran. I believe we are right to choose a path of international diplomacy to achieve our goal of verifiably preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

“I have carefully reviewed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), attended numerous classified briefings, heard from experts and constituents, and examined detailed arguments for and against the agreement. I have also been guided by the hard lessons that should be learned when America chooses to engage in military action and war in the Middle East. Simply put, I do not believe that rejecting this agreement is in our national security interest.

“For that reason the choice is clear, I will support this international agreement because it will best serve America’s national security interests and it is built on verification with a robust inspections and compliance regime that will cut off all of Iran’s potential pathways to a nuclear weapon.”

  1. Paul says:

This proves that she is clueless, those robust inspections she talks about come after a twenty four day notice, that many believe can turn into three months. Not to mention the money we will be sending.

  2. PMD says:

I notice you comment on many of the Tammy Baldwin press releases. In fact I’ve never seen a single person here comment on so many of a single person’s press releases. What’s with that Paul?

  3. Paul says:

PMD, instead of worrying about me, do you agree with Tammy that this is a great deal? Or once again are you going to change the subject?

  4. PMD says:

I’m not worried about you. I asked a valid question. I’m not surprised you didn’t answer it. Again, you consistently engage in exactly what you claim to object to. You are a massive hypocrite. And yes I support the Iran deal.

  5. AG says:

Paul’s obsession with Baldwin aside… PMD, how can you think this is a good deal?? We have no assurances on anything yet Iran gets many things they wanted out of the deal. I seriously fear what can happen when a country who’s rhetoric consistently includes a desire to wipe Israel and the US off the face of the earth getting nuclear weapons.

  6. PMD says:

Ah but I didn’t say it’s a great deal (Paul put words in my mouth). I said I support the deal. That’s not the same thing AG. It might not be a great deal, but sorry I simply don’t buy the “it’s the end of the world” rhetoric being espoused by many.

  7. Paul says:

PMD, how am I a hypocrite, this post is about Tammy loving this deal, and you were trying to change the subject to me. And when did I say you thought it was a great deal, I asked if you agreed with it. So is it that you can’t read and understand or do you just like to lie?
AG and I told you some of the reasons why we think this is a bad deal, why do you support it.

  8. Paul says:

PMD, we’re still waiting for your answer on why you support this deal.Name the parts you like.
