(MADISON) – National Night Out is an effort to promote involvement in police-community partnerships, improved neighborhood unity and crime prevention. Today, Senator Lena Taylor (D-Milwaukee) announced a partnership with Milwaukee Alderman Ashanti Hamilton and Milwaukee County Supervisor Theodore Lipscomb to host one of approximately 16,000 National Night out events in America. More than 37 million people across the nation are anticipated to participate in Tuesday’s event.
This year’s theme is “Building Neighborhood Unity.” Senate District 4’s National Night Out event will include free food, music, activities, and a community resource fair. The Milwaukee Fire Department will demonstrate the Survive Alive House with a special visit by McGruff the Crime Dog. Enjoy an evening of family-friendly fun and stay for the movie at 7:30 pm.
The event will take place at the pavilion at Lincoln Park, 1301 W Hampton Ave, on Tuesday August 4th from 5-9pm. The event’s Facebook invite can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/events/414649375326229/.
