Near West Side Neighborhood Logo Unveiled
Launch of Near West Side website also announced
Near West Side Partners, Inc. Logo
Milwaukee – Elected officials, community leaders, near west side residents and employees from several of Milwaukee’s largest business, education and non-profit organizations gathered today as Near West Side Partners, Inc. (NWSP) revealed the logo for the Near West Side neighborhood.
Keith Stanley, executive director of NWSP, along with Mayor Tom Barrett, Council President Michael Murphy and Ald. Robert Bauman, revealed the neighborhood logo to a crowd of supporters of the NWSP efforts. As a “neighborhood of neighborhoods,” the new Near West Side logo is designed to complement the logos and brands of the seven historic neighborhoods in the Near West Side. The logo was created by members of the NWSP Identity & Branding Working Team.
“On behalf of all the participating organizations, we are thrilled to unveil the logo of the Near West Side,” said Keith Stanley, executive director of Near West Side Partners, Inc. “We recognize the Near West Side is a ‘neighborhood of neighborhoods’ and each community holds a unique history with wonderful assets. This logo was designed to celebrate each and every one of the seven powerful neighborhoods that together make up the Near West Side – a place to live, work and play.”
Immediately following the unveiling, Mayor Barrett lead a tour of the Near West Side as part of his 100 Miles in 100 Days Walk initiative.
The Near West Side logo unveiling corresponds with the debut of a new website for the neighborhood, www.nearwestsidemke.org. This new website will act as an information portal for existing neighborhood associations in the Near West Side, highlighting the assets and events happening throughout the neighborhood.
