Rash of morning street robberies on city’s near south side
Joint statement from Alderman Bob Donovan and Alderman José G. Pérez July 22, 2015
Several citizens have been victimized by armed robbers during recent early morning street robberies on the near south side.
The robberies – both strong arm and armed — have occurred mainly between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m., and the victims appear to be targeted at random. The robbers have used stolen cars to commit the robberies and are taking anything of value, including cash, credit cards, jewelry and phones.
We urge all citizens to be aware of their surroundings at all times, and if you see something suspicious or perceive that you are about to be victimized, call 9-1-1 immediately. For your safety, please do not resist if you are threatened, and call police immediately once the perpetrator/s have left.
If you have any information that might help solve these cases, we urge you to please call Milwaukee police at 414-933-4444 as soon as possible and provide any information or details you may have.
Residents who would like to talk about public safety and crime issues can always call our offices at 414-286-3533 (Ald. Donovan) and 414-286-3762 (Ald. Pérez).
