How long have you lived in Milwaukee & what brought you here?
In September it will have already been three years, which seems crazy! I moved here for a job offer I received after college, to pursue my dream of working in the ad agency world.
Was there a point where you decided this was the city you wanted to live in?
I think there have been many of those points. Every time I visit a new neighborhood or village I fall in love with all of the different offerings this city has. I just visited the Avalon Theater in Bay View for the first time for the Creative Mornings, YPWeek event, and I fell in love; not only with the theatre, but that neighborhood. I hadn’t explored it before and I can’t wait to check it out again. Plus, I love different attributes all over town. The East Side, Water St, the Third and Fifth Wards, Walker’s Point, Brady St, North Ave, Tosa, the list goes on and on.
Jeez – I have to pick one thing? Branching off of my last answer, I would say the uniqueness of the neighborhoods. But, although the people’s personalities and interests may be different as you go from one neighborhood to another, our values and down-to-earth attitudes hold true throughout Milwaukee.
How does Milwaukee vary from other cities you’ve lived in/visited?
I think Milwaukee is a bit of a secret. We have just as much to offer as larger, more well known or more popular cities, but we are less crowded and we still have a Midwestern feel, not necessarily small town, but we’re also not full of ourselves.
What do you think of Milwaukee as a place to socialize and play?
Amaze balls. The lake, a multitude of concert venues, restaurants on restaurants, Bucks, Brewers, Admirals, theatre options, outdoor activities, the list goes on and on.
