Marquette Theatre presents In the Red and Brown Water
In the Red and Brown Water, written by Tarell Alvin McCraney, will be presented by Marquette Theatre.
MILWAUKEE – In the Red and Brown Water, written by Tarell Alvin McCraney, will be presented by Marquette Theatre in a collaborative production with UPROOTED theatre and guest director Marti Gobel.
In the Red and Brown Water features a poetically vigorous work that artfully folds together slang vernacular and the grandeur of ancient African tradition to tell the story of Oya, a track star from the “hood” who must make difficult choices on her journey to womanhood. The play will run during the following dates:
- Thursday, Nov. 6, through Saturday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, Nov. 12, through Saturday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday, Nov. 16, at 2:30 p.m.
Due to adult content, In the Red and Brown Water is recommended for mature audiences. Tickets for the general public are $20, with discounts offered to senior citizens, students, employees and alumni. Season ticket packages are also available. Individual and season tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online or by calling the Theatre Box Office at (414) 288-7504.
