Wild Space Dance Company Announces 2014-2015 Season
Wild Space will bring together new music and new choreography to create original work inspired by the human condition and a generous dose of wry humor.
Milwaukee, WI (July 17, 2014)…Wild Space Dance Company’s 2014-2015 Season will celebrate Milwaukee as a source of inspiration through three season performances. Wild Space will open with its site-specific adventure Brew City Dreams, set in the newly renovated Schlitz Park Stock-House. In March, the company will get Carried Away to New York City at Roulette performance space. The May finale, Reckless Wonders offers an evening of intriguing dance, featuring work by company members at the Milwaukee Rep’s Stiemke Studio.

In September, Wild Space will transform the newly renovated Schlitz Park Stock-House into a place of discovery and community gathering, revealing the past, present and future of the historic site. With the city nightscape as a backdrop, audiences will view dance vignettes as they move through upper floors of the Stock-House. A pre-show talk by photographer Paul Bialas, author of Schlitz Brewing Art, will offer a glimpse into the history and architecture of the Schlitz Brewery.
Brew City Dreams is part of Wild Space’s Neighborhood Sites initiative, and will include school outreach in conjunction with the performance. Performances and outreach programs are supported in part by grants from The Gardner Foundation, The Herzfeld Foundation and the Milwaukee Arts Board and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin. Led by 2011 Milwaukee Arts Board Artist of the Year Debra Loewen, Wild Space Dance Company is celebrating three decades of inventive performances and innovative outreach programs. Known for site-specific works and artistic collaborations, Wild Space takes audiences on adventures through built and natural landscapes, visual art, history and the human condition through wry humor, clever choreography and emotionally-charged dance. An affiliate of UPAF, Wild Space is a company-in-residence at Lincoln Center Middle School of the Arts in Milwaukee and Lawrence University in Appleton.
