Niki Johnson’s “A Vision in White,” inspired by Michelle Obama
Niki Johnson talks with TCD's Kat Murrell about her art and its relation to celebrity media society. Video by Gene Cawley.
Artist Niki Johnson received international publicity for her work, Eggs Benedict, a papal portrait woven from thousands of multi-hued condoms. More recently, Johnson showed her debut glass sculpture, A Vision in White, which confronts issues of body and image in the context of First Lady Michelle Obama.
Johnson spoke with TCD’s Kat Murrell about making this piece and the terror and elation that come with the artistic process.
