The Milwaukee Art Museum presents this summer’s hottest MAM After Dark
Craving to get creative? Starving to satisfy your taste buds? Do it yourself, Milwaukee! Experience this month’s MAM After Dark: DIY and beer tasting, Friday, August 28, from 5 PM to midnight.
New this month: Check out American Furniture / Googled and learn more about the digitally-driven exhibition during a Gallery Talk with curator Mel Buchanan. At 6:30 and 9:00 PM screen the critically acclaimed documentary Handmade Nation, by local filmaker and indie-craft champion Faythe Levine. Sample handcrafted brews from across Wisconsin from 6 to 8 PM, then hear Milwaukee’s own The Championship perform rustic Americana fused with Progressive Rock from
8 to 10 PM, all outside on the Museum’s breathtaking Terrace (weather permitting). Details and program info below.

Ogle at this google-worthy exhibition, where unconventional digital labels share resource materials from the Internet on the Victorian-era furniture on view. Gallery Talk with curator Mel Buchanan at 6 PM.
DO IT YOURSELF
Make your own wallets, handbags, and more at an expanded version of the ever-popular DIY Studio from 5 to 11 PM, then take a break for beer tasting from 6 to 8 PM. Plus, enjoy snacks compliments of the Museum’s Café Calatrava, 6 to 9 PM, and refreshments at the Cash Bar from 5 to close.
MOVIES, MUSIC, AND MORE
See screenings of Handmade Nation: The Rise of DIY, Art, Craft, and Design at 6:30 and 9:30 PM, bookending a talk and book signing with local filmmaker Faythe Levine; purchase your copy at the Museum Store, open until 10 PM. Be there as Jordan Lee (DJ Madhatter) of 88Nine Radio Milwaukee heats up the proverbial wax while you cut the proverbial rug inside from 5 to 11 PM, and don’t miss The Championship outside from 8 to 10 PM.
