Cari Taylor-Carlson’s restaurant reviews and walking tours are some of my favorite Urban Milwaukee articles… I gain 1-2 pounds of weight from reading the restaurant reviews and drooling over her photos of food.
I do not understand the review’s title. If you read the review, even though the reviewer calls the food good and an item “fricken delicious,” the food was merely a disappointment? For a brew pub, the food is at least “good,” and in my experience, more carefully prepared and better than most. And the beers are awesome. Slam an establishment with disappointment when the food and service is truly bad. Company Brewing does not deserve a business-hurting review heading.
The headline is regrettable. If you cant say something positive about a local, independent business, then move on to something else. If UM continues this type of work, I’ll be voting with my feet.
Seconding the other comments here, the headline is not reflective of the content of the article and y’all should change it.
positives:
I concluded that Company Brewing was a restaurant with a good, if not a great brunch.

but darn, it was good.
It was fricken delicious.

pairing the frico and fromage fort was overkill; one or the other would have been enough.
not a rave.
Also, ” The Fried Tofu Sandwich made with Simple Soyman herb tofu was a tower of deep-fried tofu topped with cilantro-lime slaw. It required a knife and fork.” That’s not a review, it’s a restatement of the menu’s description. that sandwich is amazing
It appears that the headline writer needs to apologize.

It’s amazing how people can become so outraged over a restaurant review “headline” but are perfectly content with….
