New Restaurant Cloud 9 Is A Cereal Bar
Walnut Hill restaurant serves everything from cereal shakes to cereal-infused pancakes and waffles.
At Cloud 9 Cereal Bar, set to open this August at 3341 W. North Ave., owner Kristina Rucker wants her customers to play with their food.
From pancakes and waffles with cereal mixed in the batter to cereal shakes, Cloud 9 will offer a variety of menu items that allow customers to make their own cereal-themed creation.
“I want to make something like a freestyle,” Rucker said, “Just whatever you thought that you wanted to do when you were a kid.”
Rucker wants her first restaurant to be an affordable place for kids, young adults and families. The restaurant will be open Friday-Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., long enough to serve cereal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She hopes that Cloud 9 Cereal Bar will bring some variety to the Walnut Hill neighborhood.
The location used to be home to Unique Style’z salon, which closed its doors in September 2020 due partially to COVID-19 related business struggles.
“It’s not too big, only 500 square feet,” Rucker said.
Rucker said she was nervous to open her first business, but decided to take a leap of faith and try something new.
“I like cereal,” Rucker said and lot of others do, too. “So let’s try something different.”
